Overview Optomi, in partnership with our premier client in the media industry, is seeking a seasoned engineer with deep expertise in cloud-native development, DevOps, and software engineering. In this role, you’ll drive the design and delivery of scalable, high-performance systems and infrastructure. You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams to address complex challenges in distributed systems, data management, and large-scale performance. As a technical leader, you’ll write efficient, well-documented code, define robust architectural solutions, and mentor peers while staying on top of modern practices in cloud and software engineering. Base pay range $80.00/hr - $87.00/hr Contract and location 24-month contract with potential to extend/convert Hybrid: 2x a week onsite in Orlando, FL Responsibilities As a technical leader, you’ll write efficient, well-documented code, define robust architectural solutions, and mentor peers while staying on top of modern practices in cloud and software engineering. Must Haves 5+ years of software development experience across multiple domains Strong background in distributed systems and data management Expert-level coding skills with attention to performance and efficiency Advanced proficiency in Python for backend and infrastructure development Solid DevOps experience: CI/CD, containerization (Docker), testing, and automation Hands-on experience with AWS services (IAM, S3, Kinesis, Lambda, SNS) Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation, or AWS CDK) Experience collaborating with engineering, data, and product teams Ability to design scalable, reliable, and low-latency architectures Experience in code reviews and providing technical mentorship Nice to Haves Proficiency in a statically typed language (TypeScript, Java, etc.) Knowledge of data architecture trade-offs (SQL vs NoSQL, partitioning, warehouses) Experience with low-level design (data structures, code organization) Awareness of modern trends in cloud engineering and data systems Passion for reusable components and platform-level improvements Seniority level Mid-Senior level Employment type Full-time Job function Information Technology Industries Technology, Information and Media Benefits Medical insurance Vision insurance #J-18808-Ljbffr
